Government to scale up Intervention under (NDP) to Address Economic Challenges

 By Godfrey Ssali

The government says that it will scale up to several interventions under the National Development Plan 3 to address the economic challenges that the youths face today.

The state minister in charge of Children and youths affairs Sarah Nyirabashitshi Mateke says that the interventions include putting in place agro-based industries with a view of encouraging young people to embrace agriculture and the value addition chain.

Minister Mateke also says that the Government will sustain funding to the youth’s livelihood scheme to ensure that innovations and business ideas by the youths are funded.

She also says that many other programs for the youths housed in different Government departments or ministries will be streamlined to ensure that they deliver.

This while addressing journalists at the media center ahead of the International Youths Day due to be commemorated tomorrow.
