The Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT) has today signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Resistance Movement (NRM) vice-chairperson central region aimed at improving household income through agriculture under the “Kisoboka” campaign.

The five-year campaign targets to equip one million Ugandans between the ages of 18 and 35 with improved agricultural practices to enable them to benefit from the activity.

Under this campaign model, farmers will be identified, to train other farmers in their parishes who will later be assessed by DIT and the successful ones will be awarded internationally recognized certificates.

Speaking during the event to seal this partnership held at DIT headquarters in Kampala today, Godfrey Kiwanda Suubu the NRM vice chairperson central region noted that the drive will also help prepare Ugandans to benefit from the various government programs aimed at improving their livelihoods.

Patrick Byakatonda the director of DIT expressed commitment by his team to assess and certify all the trainees under the Kisoboka campaign and award them certificates that can get them jobs in the agro-industry both within and outside the country.
