The Speaker of Uganda’s parliament Rt Hon Jacob Oulanyah is dead.
Jacob Oulanyah’s death was confirmed by President Yoweri Museveni today Sunday, March 20, 2022.
“Countrymen and Countrywomen. It is with a lot of sadness that I announce the death of Rt Hon Jacob Oulanyah, the speaker of parliament.” Museveni tweeted.
According to President Museveni, he received the news about Oulanyah’s death today at 10:30 EAT from people that have been with him in the US hospital and the doctor who was treating him in Seatle where he has been receiving treatment since February 5, 2022.
“He was a good cadre. I delayed the announcement so that his children get the information first. May his soul rest in eternal peace.” Museveni posted with his signature under.
