COUNTRY NEEDS LAND PLAN AND MAPPING STRATEGY

Food and agriculture activists are advising govt to consider coming up with a clear land mapping and plan strategy and watering down the ongoing presidential campaign on new land amendments saying the mapping and plan strategy will create harmony on land use in the country.
According to Agnes Kirabo, the executive director Food rights alliance (FRA) currently the land in Uganda has no clear and planned use as every person starts any activity on any land as they wish not knowing what will happen next in a given area which then hinders development.
Kirabo notes that countries which have registered faster development have mapped land use which has guided land users on where to carry out their planned activities from and at a given time.
Kirabo now wants Ugandan land clearly mapped for proper use mentioning industrial, farming, forest land among other uses.
