Members of the Parliamentary  Committee on health have been shocked to learn about the availability of drugs and other medical supplies in plenty at the National Medical Stores (NMS) Entebbe despite the shortage of these items in many health facilities across the country.

During a tour conducted at NMS today, the MPs tasked NMS officials headed by the General Manager Moses Kamabare to explain the cause of lack of medical supplies in health facilities yet they are stored in batches at Entebbe.

In response, Kamabare told MPs that they have records confirming supply of these medical equipments to districts from where the health facilities pick them, tasking the legislators to investigate and establish where they get lost from and the people involved in this saga.

Dr. Charles Ayume, the Chairperson of the  Health Committee tasked his fellow MPs to deeply conduct investigations on health facilities and task them to produce particular tools like the delivery notes indicating the amount and types of drugs and other medical supplies delivered to the facilities.
