Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among has pledged to strengthen peace and development in the district, after officially been nominated to contest again as Bukedea (NRM) flag bearer Woman Member of Parliament in 2026-2031.

Speaking after her nomination at the Bukedea stadium , Among thanked voters for their trust and vowed to continue empowering communities, especially women’s groups, through local development programs.

“We must protect the peace we have and ensure people earn from their own initiatives while complementing government programs,” she said.

Among highlighted several achievements in Bukedea, including a hospital offering free services, a nursing school with subsidized fees, and free education programs for girls. She also reaffirmed her support for President Yoweri Museveni and the NRM party, urging residents to vote for continued progress.

“If each of us develops our home area, we will develop Uganda,” she added.
