In a bid to improve agriculture in Uganda,10 youth Ugandan farmers are to be selected to travel to Germany for an exchange programme which will last for three months.

Revealing this at a press conference today in Kampala, the director strategic partnership at Uganda national farmers federation, Humphrey Mutaasa says, only youth engaged in agriculture production are eligible for the exchange programme that will see 10 German youth farmers come to Uganda in exchange.

The initiative championed by young farmers’ federation of Uganda is intended to entice youth to love farming which is the back bone of the country’s economy.

Meanwhile, the national coordinator young farmers’ federation of Uganda, Kabiito Denis notes that only the selected 10 youth farmers will travel to Germany where they will visit a number of selected farms to take lessons which they will bring back to better their practice.

But the federation urges applicants to take chance of the two weeks available to apply at a fee of UGX.250,000.
