The speaker of parliament Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga has today launched the African women leaders network where she challenged communities undermining women.

Speaking at the launch in Kampala, Kadaga sited examples of women who have been able to make it to the top ranks just like men as well as incidences where women have been undermined on grounds of their physicality.

She then assures Ugandan women leaders of better mentorship and networking with other women leaders across the globe which will make their leadership skills more effective.

However, the team leader, Africa women leadership network Dr. Thalma Awori stresses that this initiative is to harness the leadership of women for the transformation of Africa.

Thalma says it’s visible to see the drastic transformation of Africa if women are in control of many things in the various countries.

Thalma further says this opportunity is not only for high- class women but even for the little farmer in the village.

                                                                                               END
