The National Conference on Ethics and Integrity has resolved to urge the government to implement all laws and policies that have been enacted to inculcate and promote morals in society. Participants who flocked to Kololo today invited the government to support families in upbringing of children as a remedy to the deteriorating immorality in the country.
Today, a large number of Ugandans from diverse backgrounds gathered at Kololo Independence Grounds to participate in the Annual National Conference on Ethics and Integrity. The conference was organized by the Parliamentary Forum on Ethics and Integrity, led by James Nsaba Buturo, the Bufumbira East legislator.
During his keynote address, Professor Ezra Suruma emphasized the importance of government support for social institutions, such as families, to promote morality and ethics in society. According to Suruma, without government support, family institutions may not be strong enough to promote desirable behavior in society.

As the discussion escalated, counter-accusations between men and women came up as the two genders accused one another of facilitating moral breakdown.
At the conference, proposals were put forth for the establishment of an active council of elders. This council will be tasked with guiding on moral issues in the country. Additionally, the attendees resolved to address the issue of parents who abandon their children. They acknowledged that parents have become too busy to attend to their children, which has led to an increase in immoral behavior.
