The First Lady, Hon Janet Museveni, has congratulated Speaker of Parliament Hon Anita Among, and her husband Hon Eng Moses Magogo on delivering a set of twins.

In a letter to the Speaker, the First Lady conveyed her best wishes and that of President Yoweri Museveni, lauding the Speaker for juggling her demanding duties as Speaker and motherhood, which she said sets a good example for young, working mothers.

“Mzee [President Yoweri Museveni] and myself congratulate you and Hon Magogo and we hope that both you and the babies are doing well,” she said in her October 26, 2023 letter.

The First Lady wished the Speaker, whom she fondly calls ‘my dear daughter (Nalongo)’ a good and restful time with the little ones and prayed for peace and many blessings in the days ahead.

There was an outpouring of goodwill messages after Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa informed the country that the couple had been blessed with twins.

Speaker Among is currently on leave attending to her motherhood roles.
