As we prepare for the 2021 general elections, Ugandans have been urged to desist from acts that instigate conflicts unnecessarily.

Rev Can John Awodi the diocesan secretary Kampala diocese says if there have to be views expressed; this should be done in a peaceful way instead of using violence.

He also appealed to Uganda police force to ensure that they abide by laws and not use them discriminately to promote the good and freedom of all Ugandans regardless of creed, association and origin to be able to have peaceful, free and fair general elections come 2021.

The man of God was speaking today during a press conference held at All Saints cathedral Kampala ahead of  the enthronement of the 8th bishop of Kampala diocese The Most Rev.  Dr. Samuel Stephen Kazimba Mugalu scheduled to take place this Sunday 8th March 2020.

” we welcome our archbishop and Bishop of the Diocese of Kampala The Most Rev Dr. Stephen Samuel Kazimba Mugalu as he takes the mantle in this season and period. We are sure with the passion for the gospel he has, greater success and impact will be registered in this city and beyond” Awodi said.

Kampala diocese was curved out of Namirembe diocese in 1972 to provide for the seat for the archbishop of the church of Uganda.

Dr. Kazimba was enthroned as the 9th Archbishop of the church of Uganda on the 1st of March 2020.
