Ugandans Cautioned Against Covid19 Herbal Mixtures.

By Damba Rogers

The director health services in the ministry of health Dr. Joseph Okware is strongly cautioning Ugandans against buying and consuming herbal teas mixtures said to be treating covid19.

Speaking to Dr. Okware he reveals that, though all medicines are made from herbal products, it’s not a guarantee that the herbal mixtures being traded in pharmacies are certified for consumption.

As he cautions the makers of these mixtures, he asked them to go through the set steps for certification by the national drug enforcement agency (NDA) before putting the products on the market.

He adds that anyone caught making and selling any herbal mixture said to be treating covid19 will face the law.

However, the international president of world health summit Dr. Charles Ibingira confirms that the upcoming global conference slated for 27-30 June 2021 in Kampala will be discussing several health issues with over 200 scientists and researchers to attend and make presentations with the aim of finding solutions to global health burdens.

The hybrid summit to be officiated by the President of Uganda Y.K.Museveni is organized by Makerere School of public health.
